    THE ART OF RENOVATING MARBLE

Marble is commonly used in interiors, particularly in the kitchen and bathroom. This noble material is a symbol of refinement and prestige, and remains highly desired in properties due to its estheticism and the special extraction method used to make it functional: effectively, to be used indoors, marble must be polished and crystallized. This enables us to obtain a shiny and durable surface that is easy to maintain.

To ensure that marble maintains it high quality in the long-term, it is necessary to renovate it every three to four years. The fact that marble is most often used in kitchens and bathrooms means that it often encounters water, which causes limestone to stick to the surface. Occasionally renovating the marble helps restore it to its original state and ensures that it does not get irreparably damaged.

Here is an example of a marble before it was renovated by Ré-novateurs:

To renovate marble, we start by polishing the surface with a grinding machine in order to remove limestone and eventual imperfections.

Then comes the crystallization phase. Here, we repeatedly apply a polishing powder in order to harden and reinforce the marble. This procedure will also make the stone regain its brilliance.

Once these steps are finalized, the marble will regain its original look and can again be used daily without the risk of damaging the original stone. Effectively, it is thanks to this renovation that the marble will benefit from exceptional longevity.

This is what the marble looks like once the work has been finalized:
